Linda Haller Obituary

HALLER, LINDA (LADD) Linda Lou (Ladd) Haller, 65, of Cromwell, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 10th at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Ilion, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn (Neale) Ladd. Linda lived in Cromwell for over thirty-five years and worked at Middlesex Mutual Assurance Company for over twenty years. Her greatest joy in life came from her family and friends including her quilting gang and cross stitch crew. Linda was the loving mother of Gretchen Haller of Cromwell and also leaves three brothers, Robert, Gary and Paul Ladd, all of NY; her sister, Mary Paul of NY; several nieces and nephews and her beloved furry kids, Winston, Zoey, Jinx, and Scooter. The family would like to thank the Middlesex Hospital ICU for their compassionate and exceptional care. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 16th at 11:00am at First Congregational Church, 355 Main Street, Cromwell. Burial will be private. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00am at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda’s memory may be made to Middlesex Hospital ICU, 28 Crescent Street, Middletown, CT 06457. Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell is handling the arrangements and messages of condolence may be sent the family at www.doolittlefuneralservice.com

Gretchen, I send you my thoughts and prayers about the passing of your mom. I met your mom at the heart of the valley quilting retreats. I was lucky enough to have a few chats with your mom and share our love of sewing. I always admired her cross stitch. I remember some funny stories she told me about Winston and the big snow and having to shove to make a path in the snow. I am thinking of you at this difficult time. You are such a wonderful daughter, you did so much for your mom, I watched as you came to pick her up from retreats, please know I will keep her and you in my thoughts and prayers. Gretchen,
I am so sorry about your mom's passing. I have such wonderful memories of her trying to teach me how to knit at Middlesex Mutual. Your mom and a couple of other gals would sit every day for several weeks during our lunch time and they all thought they would teach me how to knit. Well that never happened, but we had lots of laughs about it. She truly was a dear person who will be missed by all of us who knew her.

Gretchen, my sincere sympathy to you and your family. I remember Linda when I worked at Middlesex Mutual. She was such a joy being around. She was so upbeat and had such a great sense of humor. I was so sad to hear the news of your mother's passing. I worked with Linda at MiddleOak for many years. She was a warm and caring person. I loved her sense of humor and easy laugh. She battled difficut challenges in her life and I know that the love of her daughter and friends sustained her. I am greatful to have known your mom. Linda Lou's spiritual journey has begun.
