Marjorie Sabin

Marjorie (Doebener) Sabin, 95, a lifelong resident of Middletown, died on May 2 in Bridgewater, NJ. Born in Middletown, she was the wife of the late Frederick Sabin, and the daughter of the late Charles and Frances (Ratcliffe) Doebener.
She was very active at the First United Methodist Church, where she served as Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Secretary of the Administrative Board/Council, a member of the Memorial Fund and numerous other church committees, a Sunday School Teacher, Supervisor of the Nursery, Young Women's Guild, Sew "n" Sew Group, and United Methodist Women. Marjorie was a member for over 50 years of the Order of Easter Star, Lady Washington Chapter #45, a Cub Scout Den Mother, and a member of the MOXII Homemakers.
She is survived by two sons, Frederick C. (and Doris) Sabin of Bound Brook, NJ, Wayne D. (and Lynn) Sabin of Juliustown, NJ; three grandsons, Glenn, Kyle and Scott; three granddaughters, Cynthia, Elizabeth, and Catherine; and three great grandchildren, Caroline, Jarod and Mark. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Andrew, and sisters, Evelyn and Muriel. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Middletown on Saturday, May 11th at 10 a.m. Interment will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middletown.
Family and friends are invited to an Order of Eastern Star Floral Ceremony at 8:30 a.m. in the church parlor, and visitation prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 24 Old Church Street, Middletown, CT 06475.
