HAMILTON, PAUL BEECHER Middletown: Paul Beecher Hamilton, 90, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. He lived most of his life in Winsted, CT and the last 4 1/2 years in Middletown, CT. He was born in Winsted, February 4, 1924, the son of the late Carl and Ruth (Spelman) Hamilton. Paul worked as a tool and die maker at several area companies and retired from the Torrington Company, Bearing Division. Paul spent two years in the Navy during World War II, serving in Memphis, TN, as an airplane mechanic. He was a long time active member of the First Church of Winsted, volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America, enjoyed skiing, antique cars, being home with family and tinkering with and fixing almost anything. In retirement, Paul also enjoyed golf and playing pool. Paul is survived son, James and wife Linda of Texas, son, Steven and wife Sharon of Alaska, daughter, Marsha and husband Harold Graves of Middletown, CT, and son, Joel and wife of Kathryn of Louisiana. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Paul was predeceased by the love of his life, Faith, his first wife of 46 years. He was also predeceased by his second wife, Lillian Sweeney Hamilton and his brother, Herbert. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19, at 2:00 PM at the First Church in Winsted. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services to express their sympathy. Burial in Forest View Cemetery will take place in the spring.
