Robert Clayton Obituary
Robert lived in Middletown and Portland all his life, worked for Standard-Knapp in Portland for over thirty five years, was a veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Coast Guard and an honorary life member of Veterans of Vietnam War in Middletown. He was also a member of Italian American Civic Order and of Middletown R & R Club.
Along with his wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas R. Clayton and his wife, Nancy of Middletown and Robert F. Clayton and his wife, Katherine of Middletown; two grandchildren, Michael W. Clayton and Alice E. Straight and her husband, Brian and two great grandchildren.Besides his parents and aunt, he was predeceased by his brother, William T. Clayton, his son, Michael W. Clayton and his grandson, Christopher J. Clayton.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 31st at 10:00am at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the State Veterans Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday, December 30th at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00pm and in lieu of flowers, may make donations in Robert's memory to the charity of their choice. Messages of condolences may be sent to the family at www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
