JIMMY DEAN RODGERS Jimmy Dean Rodgers (Jim) joined his Lord and Savior on May 30, 2024. Born January 25, 1937, to Ava Laura (Timmons) and Joseph Cullen Rodgers in Gorman, Texas, Jimmy was a loving husband, devoted father, and adoring grandfather. He graduated from Gorman High School and made his long-term career as a banker. While married from 1955 until 1960 to Patricia Puckett, he welcomed his first child Kelly. In 1962 Jimmy took Wilda as his beloved bride; the couple welcomed four children Bart, Bruce, Becky, and Keith. They have shared 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and 62 love-filled years together. Jimmy's quick wit and intelligent mind aided in his storytelling gift. There was no place he'd rather be than spending time with his family. He enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader, and golfer, and cheered on the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. Fourth of July celebrations in Galveston with his family were treasured events. Jimmy was a Believer. He faithfully attended First Baptist Church of Midlothian for 53 years. Selfless and kind, Jimmy gave back to his community as Midlothian Chamber of Commerce President, Chairman of Baylor Hospital Waxahachie Board of Regents, and served in the Midlothian Rotary Club, and with the Midlothian Little League. He is preceded in death by his parents Ava and Cullen Rodgers; son David Rodgers; brother Gene Rodgers; and son-in-law Jim Atkins. Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife Wilda Rodgers; children Keith Rodgers, Kelly Rodgers, Bart Rodgers and wife Michelle, Bruce Rodgers and wife Susan, Becky Paradowski, and husband Jeff; sisters Deanna Chupp and husband Benny, Ruth Spencer, and husband Rodney; grandchildren John Atkins, Cody Rodgers, Meredith Rodgers, Alec Paradowski and wife Kylie, Megan Paradowski, Cullen Paradowski and wife Allie, Jack Paradowski, Ben Rodgers, Emily Rodgers, Joel Rodgers and wife Ritika, Hannah Rodgers, Rachel Rodgers; great-grandchild Ryan Paradowski; sister-in-law Lou Rodgers; and many nephews and nieces. Services will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 10:00 am at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home Chapel in Waxahachie, Texas with Pastor Ben Condray officiating. Interment will follow at Midlothian Cemetery.
