Beatriz Narvaez Balli
Beatriz Narvaez Balli, 89, of DeKalb, IL passed away in her beloved home surrounded by her family on September 13, 2021.
Beatriz, born on May 17, 1932, was raised in Matamoros, Mexico to Delores and Edward Narvaez. The second oldest sibling of ten, she was an entrepreneur from the beginning helping her brother David sell produce at the market to support their family.
At 16 she moved to Donna, TX to live with her aunt where she met the love of her life, Luis Balli. They started their life there, raising seven wonderful children on their ranch where she managed her grocery store that she adored. They decided to move north for new opportunities in 1969 and found themselves in DeKalb, where Beatriz and Luis would start their legacy of restaurants and involvement in the community.
Her joys included tending to her garden at home and working at the family's restaurant. She loved her flowers and would spend her days making sure the Rosita's patio was full of them, and she also loved watching the bustle of the restaurant from her gazebo. She took a lot of pride in making the restaurant what it is and is the creator of all the recipes her friends and family know and love today.
She enjoyed her Mexican soap operas, dancing with Luis, listening to country music, seeing her grandchildren work at the restaurant, and getting to spend time with a fourth generation - her great-grandchildren.
Beatriz is remembered as gracious, kind, strong, and ever-loving to her family and every person that came into her life.
She is survived by her seven children, Jose Luis Balli, Edward Balli, Blanca Levas (Mike Levas), Claudio Balli, Rosa Balli, John Balli, and Jaime Balli, 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren; also beloved by her surviving siblings, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Beatriz is preceded in death by her loving husband, Luis Balli, her brothers, Arnoldo Narvaez, Oscar Narvaez, and Rogelio Narvaez, and her mother and father, Dolores and Eduardo Narvaez.
