Patricia J. Dailey, 68, of DeKalb, Illinois, died Thursday, March 25, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born June 19, 1952, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Dale and Margaret (Klink) Mast. Patricia Married Danny Dailey November 1973, in Sycamore, Illinois.
As a young girl Pat was very curious, the love for animals came naturally and was consistent in her youth and through adulthood. As a youth growing up in rural Iowa, she chased turtles, homeless cats, and dogs. She dreamed of a career in veterinary medicine. Pat was a caregiver by nature. She loved and cared for everyone and everything in need. Family, animals, flowers, especially roses, were her priorities in life. She worked for several years at the original DeKalb County nursing home, followed by Transvac. During this time, she cared for the elderly, and formed relationships and bonds with many of them. In the late 90's/early 2000's, she found her passion as a House Mother for a fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon. There she would become a reliable "house mom" to many, and for over 10 years this was a place she called home. Her dogs, Jack Dog and Harley, her flower garden, riding bikes with her sister Linda, watching Midwest sunsets and looking over her family gave her purpose. She faced a hard-fought battle and succumbed on March 25th, 2021
She is survived by her husband, Danny; son Derrick (Emily) Dailey and their children, Brian and Shaun, Dustan (Heidi) Dailey and their children Emaleece and Hudson; stepchildren, Dean (Samantha) Dailey and their children, Christina and Braden; mother, Margaret Klink; siblings, Linda (Harry) Prentice, Mary Mast, Vicky, Jeff, Terri, and Amy; granddaughter, Jordan Dailey and her children, Roman and Emerald; special niece, Ashley; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Mast, and stepson, Dennis Dailey.
The Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb with the Rev. Larry Allison of Faith Baptist Church officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
