The excellent education he received there, provided Ray the skills he needed to establish a thriving Roofing business (Theisen Roofing and Siding Co. After marrying the former Elizabeth (Betty) Mackey in 1957, Ray along with several brothers, worked for Malcor Roofing in Aurora, IL, which was owned and operated by his Father, In 1971, he left the company to start his own business. Although by this time they were living in a home he and his father built in Sugar Grove, Illinois, the new company would be established in DeKalb.
Having been raised a devout Catholic, Mr. Theisen was an active participant at St. Theresa's in Aurora, St. Gaul's in Elburn, and St. Mary's in DeKalb. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Moose Lodge, and the Elk's Club.
In June of 2004, Ray was united in marriage to the former LeWhitton, who survives his death. Following his retirement in 2008 they have enjoyed an active life pursuing Ray's avid interest in golf and wintering in Palm Springs.

My condolences to the family. I always loved Ray and knew him from waiting on him at Kish Country Club in the early 90's. He and my business partner, Bob Ditamore were good friends. He was always kind and warm--a good man. So sorry for your loss!
