Raymond G. (Ray) Theisen
Raymond G. (Ray) Theisen age 84 was born in Aurora, IL, the son of Harry M and Marie (Bohr) Theisen. He attended school in Aurora, graduating from Marmion Military Academy. The excellent education he received there, provided Ray the skills he needed to establish a thriving Roofing business (Theisen Roofing and Siding Co. Inc.), which not only provided for his family as they grew, but continues to provide for two of his three sons, and one grandson (who now own the company) to this day.
After marrying the former Elizabeth (Betty) Mackey in 1957, Ray along with several brothers, worked for Malcor Roofing in Aurora, IL, which was owned and operated by his Father, In 1971, he left the company to start his own business. Although by this time they were living in a home he and his father built in Sugar Grove, Illinois, the new company would be established in DeKalb.
Having been raised a devout Catholic, Mr. Theisen was an active participant at St. Theresa's in Aurora, St. Gaul's in Elburn, and St. Mary's in DeKalb. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Moose Lodge, and the Elk's Club.
In June of 2004, Ray was united in marriage to the former LeWhitton, who survives his death. Following his retirement in 2008 they have enjoyed an active life pursuing Ray's avid interest in golf and wintering in Palm Springs.
Raymond Theisen is survived by his wife Le, three sons: Jeffrey (Cindy) Theisen of Aurora, Il, Timothy (Julie) Theisen of Sarasota, FL and Brian (Tammy) Theisen of Clinton WI., two brothers Richard A. (Maureen) Theisen and Rev. Fr. Kenneth A. Theisen , OSB. Three Sister in Laws, Maureen Theisen, RoseannTheisen, and Mona Theisen. Six grandchildren: Jeremy (Heather) Theisen, Jacob (Megan) Theisen, Abbi (Chris) Ruiz, Eric Theisen, Felice Theisen, and Ashley Theisen. Three step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Robert J. Theisen, Harry W. Theisen, James N. Theisen, Gerald B. Theisen, two sisters:Doris Hansen, Sister MerinaTheisen, OSF, one Sister in law: Sue Theisen.
The memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at St Mary Catholic Church, 321 Pine Street, DeKalb, with Fr. Kyle Manno celebrating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
