Sylvia A. Garman 70, of DeKalb passed away Tuesday September 21, 2021, at home. She was born December 28, 1950, in DeKalb and was the daughter of Donald and Theresa (Darin) Bowen.
Sylvia graduated from Notre Dame High School for Girls in 1969. She married Ronny E. Garman on January 21, 1970, at St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb. She was the secretary for Kishwaukee Medical Associates for 18 years and then worked at Kishwaukee Hospital Lab for 18 years.
Sylvia loved to travel especially to Florida. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and spending time with her family.
Survivors include; husband Ronny E. Garman of DeKalb, children; Jason (Francine) Garman of Carol Stream, IL and Danielle (Tom) Weaver of Sycamore. Six Grandchildren; Derek (Jenna) Hartness, Justin and Liberty Garman, Jack, Maddie, and Jetta Weaver. Brothers; David (Paulette) Bowen of DeKalb and Mark (Judith) Bowen of DeKalb. Her beloved dogs; Maggie and Mamie. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter Lisa Garman.
Services will be private. Cremation was entrusted to Finch Crematory. Memorials can be made to JDRF Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, www.jdrf.org. Arrangements were entrusted to Finch Funeral Home 310 Oak St. DeKalb, IL 60115 815-758-3841.
