Patti, Melissa, and Jeff; We are so saddened by your loss of Artie and extend our most sincere condolences to you. Patti, you enjoyed over fifty-five years of true love with your soulmate; the same love that your mom and dad had. You have a trove of warm memories on which to reflect to ease the pain of your loss. Melissa and Jeff, you were blessed with a great dad who was so proud of you and raised you well. Artie will now rest in peace.

I am saddened to learn of Artie's passing. My heart goes out to Patty, Melissa, Jeffrey, Artie's grandchildren, and all of their wonderful family.

I always thought of Artie as an "excitable boy" who seemingly would do anything for anybody. Just look at all the years of service that he provided to the youth of Milford.

Artie coached me in baseball, and somehow made it fun to practice in the high humidity of July on a barren Town Park that seemed as if it were the Sahara with sand blowing around everywhere. After practice was done, we would carry the equipment to the car where a cooler full of ice-cold soda awaited us. That simple memory of kindness instilled in me the need to replicate it for my daughters and their teammates decades later.

I do not think that I have ever seen any of my "tough guy" friends so smitten about a girl as Artie was with Patty. It is a blessing that he was able to spend the rest of his life with her, and to raise a great family, while helping so many others, myself included.

Patty, Jeffrey and Melissa: Such a great man who will be sorely missed by all. An old Irish saying come to mind: Death is something no one can heal and love is something no one can steal. Our deepest sympathies to all of you. ron and judy longobardi
