Danielle Villanueva Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Danielle J. Villanueva. Her life ended far too soon at the age of 41.
Danielle is survived by her loving family: Children, Finnegan & Caitlynn Wells, Parents, Robert & Donna Padilla, Sisters, Carrie Bustamante, Melissa Lefebvre (John), Yvonne Padilla, Michele Padilla, Alexis Padilla, and her brother, Michael Gaona. In addition to family, Danielle was blessed to have so many friends who truly cared for her. She also had a special relationship with her dog, Icarus, whom she truly bonded with.
We honor Danielle's memory by speaking her truth, remembering her courage, and continuing to fight for justice, safety, and dignity for all those whose voices are silenced too soon. Danielle was a victim of domestic violence by someone who was supposed to be her life partner, not her terroriser. She truly tried to face her own demons. She faced hardships as best she could, enduring more than anyone should ever have to. With constant forces working against her, it wasn't enough. Cruel words and physical abuse were constantly directed to her; this left her a shell of the person she used to be. No matter how hard her family and friends tried to help her, the years of unhappiness finally took a toll on her. She had finally made the decision to leave her abusive situation just a few days' shy of her passing when she suffered an "accident" at her home.
Danielle was a bright light in the lives of everyone who truly knew her. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining others. She had a deep compassion for others, a sharp wit, and a heart full of empathy. She often volunteered and had a soft spot for anything that helped our Veterans. We will never forget her laugh!
Despite facing great adversity, she remained strong and generous, often offering kindness to others. Danielle lost her first true love, Mark Wells, who was killed in action in 2011. She never truly got over the loss of Mark. She felt the heavy loss of his death, and this truly broke her.
Danielle was a Navy Veteran, having served as a Cryptologic Technician for six years. After Mark's passing, Danielle went on to obtain her associates degree from culinary school and a bachelor's degree in Chinese studies.
No services were planned for Danielle as her spouse refused to share information, except that she was to be cremated.

Danielle's strength, laughter, and beautiful soul will remain with us forever. We will truly miss her each and every day!
