Carolyn Bitzan

1941 - 2025

Mrs. Carolyn "Carol" Mae Bitzan, age 83, of Princeton, MN, formerly of Onamia, MN, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, while in the hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Onamia, MN, with Father Jerry Schik officiating. A Visitation will be held from 5 PM - 7 PM followed by the Rosary on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Onamia, MN and 1 hour prior to the Funeral Mass. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.

Carolyn was born on April 21, 1941, in Millerville, MN, born to the late George and Rose Hockert.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James Bitzan and her son, Thomas Bitzan.

She was a devoted parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Onamia, MN for fifty-two years. In addition to being a wife, mother, and homemaker; Carolyn ran a successful business with her husband and spent several years working at Grand Casino, Mille Lacs. She was a member of several civic clubs, including the Lioness Club and the Mille Lacs Search and Rescue organization.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Monica Ostrowski (John), Theresa Anderson (Guy), Deborah Crotty (Collin), Dianne Bitzan (John Wilson), Angela Kail; her son, Micheal Bitzan (Tim Johnson); her grandchildren, Laura Vashro (Shane), Katherine Ostrowski, Jessica Everts (Ambrose), Steven Bitzan, Daniel Anderson, Jordan Kail, Jamie Gonko (Cody), Christopher Crotty, Sara Anderson, William Wilson, Ryane Kail, Kaylene Crotty, Brandon Wilson, Peter Anderson, Anna Anderson; and her great-grandchildren, Mason Sienkiewicz, Jasper Everts, Baily Vashro, Solvie Everts and Madisen Gonko; She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her kind heart and beautiful smile.
