Milton, WI - Faye Schilberg, age 89, of Milton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025. She was born August 3, 1935, in Johnson Creek, WI, the youngest of seven children of Julius and Alma Nelson.
Faye grew up in Johnson Creek and always called herself a "city kid." Having moved from her family's farm into town at age eight. She attended Johnson Creek High School and got her first job at just 13 as a telephone operator, an early sign of the independence that would define her life. Her mother, a former school teacher, kept the five sisters busy with books and learning, while her father instilled in them the importance of being honest and sincere. Faye carried these qualities with her throughout her life.
On June 19, 1954, she married her high school sweetheart, Wallace "Wally" Schilberg. Together, they built both a thriving business and a family.
Faye raised four children while also being integral to the success of their heating and cooling business (R&W Heating). She and Wally shared their success generously with the Milton community and beyond. They were especially proud of seeing the vision of Schilberg Park come to fruition. Not only through their donation, but countless others, along with the generous support of the community.
Faye was a world traveler and an avid reader who carried herself with grace and grit. If Wally didn't feel like going on one of their many Lennox sponsored trips, Faye happily brought a sister along. She led by example, showing her daughters and grandchildren how to live with strength, style, and generosity. Anyone who met Faye would say what a special lady she was.
Faye is survived by her daughters: Sue Schilberg, Lori (Rob) Getz, and Amy (Dan) Phelps; her grandchildren: Jessica (Getz)Matthews, Kelsey Getz, Steffen Phelps, Ryan Phelps, Mark Schilberg, and Jackie Schilberg; and her great-grandchildren: Edison Matthews, Emmett Matthews, Angeliqua Schilberg, and Phoenix Schilberg. She was preceded in death by her husband Wally, her son Mark, and her sisters and brother.
Private services were held at Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Albrecht Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Milton is assisting the family.
