David Williams Obituary

David Wray Williams, 78, of Burlington, passed away Nov. 26, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father, David Ernest Williams.

Dave was born Jan. 21, 1947, in Burlington to Ernest and Elsie Williams. In 1961, his sister, Sherilyn, joined the family.

Dave grew up in Lowell, Iowa until he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He proudly served as a loadmaster on the C-130 special operations missions during the Vietnam War from 1966-1970.

After coming back from the war, Dave married Sharon Sorensen. They had their first child, Lisa, in 1972. Lisa was joined by a brother, Chad, in 1975 and their younger sister, Kelly, in 1978. On May 25, 1993, he married Jane Marie Levins, at Mount Harney in the Black Hills, S.D.

Dave worked for Champion Spark Plug in Burlington and retired after 44 years as a maintenance superintendent . Dave loved to travel, read, carpentry and to eat out at their favorite restaurants.

Dave is survived by his wife, Jane (Burlington); his mom, Elsie (Lowell); sister, Sherilyn (Ed) of Lowell; three children: Lisa of Lowell, Chad (Tammi) of Murdock, Neb., Kelly (Todd) of Papillion, Neb.; and his stepson, Jarrick (Burlington). He also had eight grandchildren, two nieces, a nephew and many great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

Dave's wish was to have his body donated to science. No service will be held.
