Gerald "Jay" B. Lohman Jr., long-time resident of Rock Creek, died at his home on Oct. 30, 2025. He was 82.
Jay was born on Aug. 23, 1943, in Springfield, Illinois and grew up in Burlington. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps.
He met Jane Warth (New London) while attending Northeast Missouri State. They were married on Dec. 10, 1966.
Jay spent the majority of his career with Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company.
Jay is survived by his beloved wife, Jane; four kids, Jerry, Gretchen, John, Jim; and four grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 9, from 1-4 p.m. at Grinnell Brewhouse, 923 Main Street, Grinnell.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Friends of Drake Community Library, 930 Park St, Grinnell, IA 50112.
