James Frazier Obituary

James E. Frazier, 76, of Luray, Missouri, passed away peacefully at 6:06 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Missouri.

He was born Nov. 25, 1946, in Keokuk, the son of the late Leroy Franklin and Evelyn Verene (Hufford) Frazier.

James graduated from Kahoka High School in 1964.

He married Kathleen Faye Thomas on June 4, 1967, in Burnside, Illinois. Though this union did not last, they were blessed with two children, Michael and Lori.

James was a lifelong farmer; it was what he loved to do. He was an avid International Harvester enthusiast. James enjoyed tractor pulls, checking on his farm, and visiting with friends. He was a part-time truck driver for Green Valley Seed, and also for Dickey Transport for several years. James and his girlfriend Connie Baker loved to travel the country and enjoyed seeing the sites. He was a 53-year member of the Masonic Fraternity and a member of St. Francisville Masonic Lodge 588.

James is survived by a son Michael Edward (Sandra) Frazier of Luray; five grandchildren: Anthony Kerr, Cassandra Kerr, Ross Frazier, Camille (Adam) Hammond, and Shane (fiancée Tressa Burr) Gregory; three great-grandchildren, Natalie Kerr, and Jackson and Hudson Skipper; a brother Dennis Lee (Beckie) Frazier of Kahoka; a sister Debra (Frank) Carter of Crawfordsville, Indiana; his girlfriend Connie Baker of Quincy, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by his daughter Lori Lynn Gregory.

Funeral services honoring James's life will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27 at Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home of Kahoka. The Rev. Donna Reid will officiate. Interment will follow at the Combs Cemetery in Luray.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 26 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be accorded at 7 pm following the visitation.
