Father Kevin Hugh Finnegan, (July 22, 1946 – May 14, 2025) Kevin took off running like a bat out of hell to embrace his best friend, Jesus Christ. Despite becoming a paraplegic at the age of 26, he lived life to the fullest.
He had an awe-inspiring experience becoming a priest, traveling the world, and comforting souls along the way. His family would like to thank all those who made his journey easier throughout his time here on Earth. Thanks to those who helped him up when he fell, enjoyed a few beers with him prior to his receiving the gift of sobriety, or gave him rides while he was hitchhiking on two canes in Ireland.
We are grateful as well for all those over the years who embraced him, guided him and laughed with him through his trials and tribulations. To the Parish Community of St. John Vianney in Gallup, New Mexico, thank you for loving him as he loved you. Serving as your priest brought him great joy.
Kevin is survived by his loving family, nieces, and nephews, and many, many friends. We will miss him terribly! As MLK, Jr. said, "Free at last, free at last, thank God almighty he is free at last."

Sending prayers to Julie, Molly and other family members of Kevin. I heard many stories about the difference Kevin made in his ministry, friends and family. May he now rest lovingly in God´s engrave.
