Linda Bohnenkamp Obituary

Linda J. Bohnenkamp, 67, of Fort Madison, passed away at 4:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025 at the West Point Care Center.

She was born on Feb. 27, 1958 in Fort Madison to Vincent and Avis Morris Bohnenkamp. Linda worked at Sheaffer Pen for 25 years and then the Daily Democrat. She was a 1976 graduate of Aquinas High School and member of Holy Family Parish. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and shooting pool.

Survivors include four brothers, David Bohnenkamp of Argyle, Alan (Kathy) Bohnenkamp, Eric (Donna) Bohnenkamp and Brian (Jackie) Bohnenkamp all of Fort Madison; one sister, Judy (John) Hawes of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Cadence, Alexis, Kylie and Cash Hellweg; son-in-law, Cody Hellweg; brother-in-law, Jerry Persky of Bettendorf and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Maria Hellweg; two sisters, Donna Persky and Laura Traman; sister-in-law, Marilyn Bohnenkamp and her niece and nephew, David and Michelle Persky.

The memorial mass will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Gary Beckman officiating. The family will meet with friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her memory and online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com.
