Mary "Dolly" R. (Weber) Gray, 90, of
Keokuk, Iowa, passed away peacefully at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at River Hills Village.
?Mary was born March 23, 1935, the daughter of Gilbert Ernest and Leta Fern Weber in Keokuk. She married Hobart Gene Gray on July 3, 1953, in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 2015. Mary was a lifelong resident of the area.
?Mary had a talent for finding joy in life's simple pleasures. Bingo nights were a favorite pastime-never just a game, but a chance to share smiles, companionship, and a little "friendly" competition. Flowers brightened every season for Mary, who loved their colors, scents, and the calm they brought. Playing cards with family and friends was another treasured hobby, full of friendly teasing and unforgettable stories. And no weekend was complete without exploring yard sales, searching for hidden treasures, unbeatable deals, and the thrill of discovering something unexpected. One of Mary's cherished routines was visiting the 8 a.m. farmers market, where she enjoyed browsing fresh goods and finding great deals. Mary also had a soft spot for the excitement of Formula 1 racing and the charm of dog shows – just enough to spark joy and a good conversation. And when it came to stories, nothing compared to settling in with a good soap opera, following the twists and turns with amusement and an occasional eye roll.
?Mary is survived by four children: Connie (Thomas) Barnes of Kahoka, Missouri, Joe (Nina) Gray of La Belle, Missouri, Sandra (Ron) Ash of Kahoka, Missouri, and Teresa Jefferson of Keokuk; two brothers, Steve (Donna) Weber Sr. and David (Mike) Weber Sr. of Keokuk; two sisters, Anna Weber of Keokuk, and Linda Jerez of Antioch, California; sister-in-law Erma (James) Norton of Columbia, Missouri; sisters-in-law Barbara Weber of Keokuk, and Mary Weber of Kahoka; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great- and great-great nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
