Partha Lou Lobberecht, 83, of Bridgeton, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Feb. 26, 1941, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of John K. and Verlie June Bennett Kennedy.
Partha graduated from Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School with the class of 1959. On Sept. 4, 1961, she was united in marriage with Ted C. Lobberecht at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 1997.
A dedicated homemaker, Partha balanced raising her family with work, starting as an executive assistant at Amedco Medical Supply in 1978, and later at Emerson Electric until her retirement in 2003.
Her meticulous nature was evident in her skills as a seamstress, often making entire outfits for her family and expertly handling alterations. With Ted's work requiring frequent travel, Partha ensured the household ran smoothly and never let her family go without. She even supplemented the family budget by providing childcare, often seen at the grocery store with a cart full of kids and another full of food.
Partha was a Brownie leader for Cindy and a Cub Scout leader for T.J. She loved to play the piano and even taught Alex how to play. She also loved crossword puzzles.
Her primary passion after retirement was assisting her children and grandchildren. If you needed her, she would be there, often on short notice. She loved to cook for her family and her favorite was to take us out for dinner. And woe be the person who tried to steal the check! She would prepare an entire Thanksgiving dinner and transport to Iowa to share with her mother. She simply loved to provide and was generous with her time, money, and encouragement, always! She did so many times for us in many ways. She provided excellent love and care to Cindy throughout and they were best buds. She was an ardent supporter of the grandkids' activities, never missing a baseball or basketball game, or a dance recital. A devout Catholic, Partha faithfully received the sacraments, including the Anointing of the Sick and Apostolic Pardon, just two days before her passing.
Partha is survived by her two daughters, Mary Hart and Cindy Lobberecht; and her son Ted J. (T.J.) Lobberecht (Laura); her grandchildren: Alex Hurt (Sarah), Courtney Lobberecht, and T.C. Lobberecht. She is also survived by her siblings: Gary Kennedy, Danna Kennedy (Cummings), Geoffrey Kennedy (Lisa), Mark Kennedy (Elizabeth), Ben Kennedy (Lisa), and Matthew Kennedy.
Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, with the Rev. Hai Dinh officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hamilton, Illinois.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10 a.m. until service time, with the family meeting with friends at that time.
