Patsy Neff, 88, of Mount Pleasant, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Mrs. Neff, the former Patsy Sue Briggs, was born Oct. 14, 1937, in Roland, Arkansas, the daughter of Lloyd and Verla (Morgan) Briggs.
She graduated from Fort Madison High School. On June 12, 1976, in Mount Pleasant, Patsy married Fred Allen Neff.
She worked as a typesetter for the Mount Pleasant News, as a Group Leader and Lecturer for Weight Watchers, and at the former Daylight Doughnuts Shop.
Survivors include her children, Steve (Shyrl) Sawyer of Cullman, Alabama; Pam Sawyer of Mount Pleasant; and Dave (Kathy) Sawyer of Cedar Rapids. Her stepchildren, Robert Neff of Olds; Judy Neff of Winfield; Belinda Osborn of Mount View, California; and Carolee Benz of New London. Her siblings, Shirley Hamilton of Georgia; and Don Briggs, Janice Morrow, and Jackie Steadman, all of Hood, Oregon. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Steve Sawyer Jr. and Kellyn Ochs, and several great-grandchildren.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three children, Patricia Sawyer (in infancy), Kelly Ochs, and Don Ochs; and two sisters, Judy Briggs and Carol Butcher.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at the Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. Burial will follow in the Forest Home Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Those considering an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
