Richard "Oscar" Cline, 68, of Burlington died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Born Aug. 1, 1956, in Burlington, he was the son of Oscar Richard and Patsy Lou (Neufner) Cline. He married Tara Hamilton, they later divorced.
Oscar worked for Univar for over 30 years. He was very much about his family, and his grandson was his world!
He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, shooting darts, tubing down the Skunk River, walking trails, camping and traveling. He was a Kansas City Chiefs fan and adored his dog Herbie.
He is survived by his two daughters, Amber Blynn Cline of Ottumwa and Mackenzie Marie Cline of Burlington; grandson, Iverson Oscar Lee Applegate; sister, Pam (Tom) Newberry of Burlington; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his fiancé, Tracy Koett.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends.
The funeral service for Oscar will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at Lunning Chapel. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for his grandson's education or to the Des Moines County Humane Society.
