Robert Mears Obituary

Robert W. Mears, 57, of Fort Madison, passed away at 8:24 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

He was born on Nov. 25, 1967 in Galesburg, Ill. to Harry and Charlotte Smith Mears. He was a mechanic and also worked for F.S. Grain Elevator. He loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles, classic rock, his dogs and was a great mechanic.

Bert is survived by two daughters: Katie Locke of Galesburg, Ill. and Kristi Anderson of Galesburg, Ill.; 1-step son, Brandon Mears of Wisconsin; six grandchildren: Kadyn Poole, Kole Parkin, Keily Anderson, Keshawn Poole, Kahlil Coleman and Kristine Coleman; a brother, Darrel Mears of Macomb, Ill. and a sister, Sylvia (Roger) Thomas of East Galesburg, Ill.. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife a sister, Kathy.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. No services are planned at this time and burial will be held at a later date in Oakland Cemetery. Online condolences to the Mears family may be left at the King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory website: www.kinglynk.com.
