KEOKUK - Stephen "Tyler" Dye, 31, of Keokuk, left us on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
Born on Jan. 10, 1994, in Keokuk, Tyler was the son of Stephen DeLoss and Katherine "Kathy" Daw Dye. He attended Keokuk High School and went on to build a life rooted in hard work and family.
A natural problem-solver, Tyler owned and operated Dye Mechanical, where his talents as a jack-of-all-trades shone through. Whether welding, plumbing, or restoring cars, he could fix almost anything and loved the challenge of learning something new.
Above all else, Tyler's greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He leaves behind three sons, Colt Dye, Lane Dye and Landen Dye as well as his mother and step-dad, Kathy Dye Ashworth (John) of Keokuk. He is also survived by four sisters: Dawn Wegener (Aaron) of Fort Collins, CO; Tonya Diamond (Neal) of Keokuk; Bobbie Ismail of Keokuk; and Stephanie Sosa (Brau) of Oak Ridge, Tennessee along with bonus brothers, Daniel Ashworth (Savannah) and Nic Ashworth. Tyler's large, close-knit family includes many nieces and nephews: Sabrina McMahan, Owen McMahan, Taylor Jobe, Billie Holmes, Mary K. Holmes, Elijah Ismail, neph-son, Austin Salyers, Arim Ismail, Hamzah Ismail, Saundra Castillo, Ilana Castillo, Karina Ramirez, Natalia Sosa, Andrea Sosa, London Ashworth, Noah Ashworth and Sophia Ashworth, great nieces and nephew: Kehlani Adams, Marleyna Sino, Kaomi Adams, Kayziere Adams, Brylee Dye, Rowen Dye, Veda Dye, along with aunts and uncles, Jim Daw, Karen Colvin (Chuck), Eric Daw (Kelly), and Teri Inman, Orma "Punky" Dye Andrews (Steve), Robert Lee Dye Jr. (Cathy), David Dye and a host of cousins, friends considered family, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents, Robert Lee Dye Sr., Josephine Rebo, James "Jim" Harold Daw, Leonida "Nida" Daw and Sandra Wagner; his aunt, Meutiah "Tia" Daw; and his cousins, Jason Andrews, Salem and Kymberly.
Tyler will be remembered for his wild yet generous spirit, his endless skills, and the love he poured into everyone around him.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 3, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Bobbie Ismail officiating. Burial will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025 at the funeral home with the family meeting with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
