William Worrell Obituary

William Christopher Worrell, 63, of Fort Madison, passed away at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

He was born on Dec. 15, 1961 in Fort Madison, to Jack J. and Darla K. Murphy Worrell. He graduated from Central Lee High School in 1980 and worked at Bagcraft in Fort Madison for several years. He spent over 30 years with his companion, Terri Olson. He enjoyed cooking and going camping with his friends and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Iowa Hawkeye Fan.

Chris is survived by a son, Logan Worrell of Florida; a step-daughter, Jessica Gerdes of Franklin, Iowa; three grandchildren: Aidan and Emily Gerdes and Henry Ray; his mother, Darla Worrell of Fort Madison; a sister, Michelle Worrell of Fort Madison and a brother, Kelly Worrell of Franklin. He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents William and Lulubelle Reece Worrell and Floyd & Iona Yvonne Murphy.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory and no services are planned at this time. A memorial has been established in his memory and may be sent to his mother: Darla Worrell, 621 29th Street, Fort Madison, IA 52627.
