Dolores Price Obituary

Dolores Arlene (Boese) Price and George Richard (Dick) Price

Dolores Arlene (Boese) Price passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on May 30, 2022, just short of her 90th birthday. She was born in Williston, ND on July 12, 1932, to Alfilda Margaret (Jacobson) and Raymond Arthur Boese. She has one sister, Florence (Polly) Culp. Dolores graduated in 1950 from Custer County High School in Miles City, MT.

George Richard (Dick) Price passed away eight days later, on June 7, 2022. He was born on July 26, 1932, to George M. and Eva Mary (Welch) Price in Ekalaka, MT. He was the third of seven children. They include Forrest (Jeaninne), Joan (John) Berg, Thomas (Sharon), Ray (Gail), Michael (Carol), and Marcia (Mick) McFarland. Forest & Michael preceded him in death. He also graduated from Custer County High School in 1951. George was an Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. He entered 2/7/1952 and was honorably discharged on 1/20/1954.

On April 4, 1954, George and Dolores were married in Miles City, MT. They were married for 68 years and died eight days apart.

Together they had four children James Alan (Barb) Price, Cheryl Rae (Duane) Parker, Richard Lee (Lori) Price, & William Michael (Renee) Price. They have nine grandchildren Karri Bedor, Jerad Parker, Eva Parker, Kristin Steede, Lee Scott, Stephanie Kern, Eric, Anna, & Adam. They also have eleven great-grandchildren.

Our dad was a proud member of the IBEW for 66 years as an electrician. He started his apprenticeship with Miles City Electric, worked around Montana on various missile bases and eventually moved to Illinois where he retired at age 62 out of Local 176. You could usually find our dad in the garage. He always had a fridge with cold beer in it while he tinkered around. He liked to listen to old country music too.

Our mom had a multitude of talents. She was a wonderful seamstress. She tailor made a suit to fit her aunt with just measurements and a pattern. Her quilts were coveted at The Price Family Reunions as were her aprons. She also kept track of our family member's birthdays. She was everyone's go to for that information. She knew who had the best price on beer too! She could knit and crochet and loved a good recipe book

When our parents retired, they were snowbirds for over 25 years in Bullhead City, AZ. They were as independent as could be. They did what they wanted, when they wanted. Together they enjoyed gambling on penny slot machines, playing cards, a good buffet, and visiting family.

As my mom would say when she learned of someone passing on…." they had a good run".

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022, at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Inurnment will follow at the Eastern Montana Veteran's Cemetery in Miles City.
