Janet Tucker Obituary

Janet Sue Tucker

Our dear sister, Janet, left us for her next adventure on a clear Montana night, after a light snow. Janet was known by many nicknames: JWPT, Jan, Jannie, Pooh Sue, Twin, and Posole. She was our baby sister, the youngest of the six Yarbrough girls. Janet was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1962 and graduated from Cibola High School. Over the years, she worked for Los Alamos Labs, living in Sierra Los Pinos and Ponderosa in the Jemez Mountains. She moved to Montana in 2004 and settled in the beautiful Bitterroot River valley. She loved the river and the mountains that tower over the valley. She worked at the Costco Warehouse in Missoula for many years. She was beloved by her coworkers and members. Many members chose to wait in Janet's cashier line so they could chat with her, even though other lines were shorter. Janet's Costco family was precious to her and she had many dear friends. Janet was a force to be reckoned with – she had an outgoing personality (although she claimed to be shy), loved to make people laugh, and was always happy to share her opinions on any topic. Once you met her, it didn't take long to learn that Janet loved animals. She was an easy mark for a rescue pet in need of a home. She was a devoted mom to many fur babies and a few feathered friends, as well.We sisters wish to thank Christina and Cherish for all their love and support – and for helping Janet and us with anything and everything along the way. Although Janet's long-held dream of going to Alaska was never fulfilled, we plan to send some of her ashes there so she can check that off her list. Checkity check check check.Janet is survived by four sisters, Donna, Wilma, Kathleen and Diane; as well as six nieces and nephews, Fern (Mia), Colin (Hannah), Casey (Kaitlyn), Devon, Grant, and John. She was preceded in death by our parents, William (Dub) and Ardith Yarbrough, and our sister, Debbie. Jannie is now at peace with Debbie, our parents, and all her dogs and cats that passed before her. Her fur babies have been patiently waiting for her - and their treats.Donations in Janet's memory can be made to AniMeals (animeals.com), 1700 Rankin Street, Missoula, MT, 59808, 406-721-4710 OR Humane Society of Western Montana (myhswm.org), PO Box 1059, Missoula, MT, 59806.

I was so saddened to hear she past. My husband and I got to know her through Costco. Yes, we always tried to go to her checkout line and battle with her on football teams! She will be greatly missed. She was always a light and made us laugh, when we would shop there! Hugs and kisses too her and all of her family!

I can't believe I'm not going to see her at Costco again. My husband and I looked for her on every Costco trip. She was our favorite checker and one of our favorite people. She's gone much too soon

I am so sorry to learn of Janet´s passing. She was such a bright star! I knew her only through my visits with her at Costco, but we formed a special bond. I loved bringing her chilies from my trips to Albuquerque. I made a pink hearts quilt for her because she brought me such joy. Peace to Janet and to her sisters.
