John Fredrick Peterson
May 7, 1958 - December 2, 2024
John left this earth on December 2nd, 2024 to be with his Lord and Savior.
John was born May 7,1958, in Great Falls, Montana, to Roderick E Peterson and Betty Peterson.
John was the third of four children, baptized into the Lutheran faith.
John was an enthusiastic student, and following his graduation from high school in 1976, he attended several Universities, including Montana State, Eastern Montana College, and the University of Montana where he received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He went into retail management then returned to U of M where he received degrees in finance and accounting.
He continued his education at Gonzaga University, in Spokane Washington, where he earned his Master's, degree of Business Administration in 1991.
John worked in several cities and states, in governmental budgeting and accounting. He went to work for the State of Montana in 2005, working in several different departments, the last being the office of administration, in Helena. He remained there until his retirement in 2019.
John was a man of many interests. He played club baseball in high school and college, and even tried out for the Toronto Blue Jays.
He was a ride or die fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the Toronto Blue Jays, his whole life, and while he attended many different Colleges and Universities, he was an avid, Montana Grizzly's, and Gonzaga Bulldogs fan, always keeping up with their games and cheering them on.
He loved classic Rock and Roll music, and often enjoyed going to live shows with his friends. He was keen on the latest trends and developments and kept up in investment news and technology. He enjoyed traveling with friends and family, and never passed on an opportunity to go to Las Vegas.
John had a great love of classic cars, and one of his prized possessions was a 1977 Cutlass that he cherished dearly.
John is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Earl. He is survived by his brother Gary Peterson, sister Bonita Kramer, and many beloved nieces' nephews, and cousins.
John was laid to rest in an intimate graveside service, on December 13th, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, in Missoula, Montana.
He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
