Lois Ann Botsford

Lois Ann Botsford, 81, of Frenchtown passed away peacefully on July 11, 2021, at St. Patrick's Hospital. She was born to Clement and Veronica Stokes on August 4, 1939, in Bloomington, IL.

She spent her youth showing cows, pigs, and sheep. During her last year of 4H she won showmanship in all three. She also won the Thomas C. Wilson Scholarship for women. Talents did not just lie in 4H, but also allowed her to be the state VP for Future Homemakers of America, won a national award for a best recipe from Betty Crocker and a finalist in Miss Illinois – Miss America pageant and won Miss Congeniality.

The wide variety of involvement continued as Lois and her husband, Terry K. Botsford (married March 23, 1965) settled in the Missoula and eventually Frenchtown. She was president of Young Lawyers and Lions Club before women were allowed to join, member of the Toastmasters Int'l, a local bridge club, member of the building committee for the existing Frenchtown HS, and founding planner for the Bronc's Shopping Center. No greater accomplishment did she have than her family – there was ALWAYS an opportunity to brag about them, cheer them on, or show her love. Faith and belief in God carried her every day.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Veronica Stokes; siblings, Patrick, Edward, and Leo; and her husband of 52 years, Terry.

She is survived by her children, John (Shelley) of Bismarck, ND, Patricia (Chad) of Puyallup, WA and Michael of Frenchtown; Granddaughters, McKayla of Conrad, Madison (fiancé' Alex) of Cincinnati, OH, Lauren of Omaha, NE and Jessica of Bismarck, ND; Her sister Irene of Phoenix; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

The children wish to thank the multitude of staff and providers that cared for our mother with gracious heart and loving hands. We are forever humbled. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Watson's Children Shelter.
