Robert Vaugh Tompson

ROBERT VAUGH TOMPSON Robert Vaugh Tompson, 92, of Moberly, Mo. passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024. He was born August 18, 1931, in Mexico, Mo. to Willard and Nellie Gray Tompson. Robert married Vivian Marie Andrews on June 4, 1955, in Washington, DC. He was a graduate of Moberly High School in 1949 and The George Washington University School of Medicine in 1958. He served in the Army National Guard, attended West Point, and served later as a surgeon in the US Air Force. He is preceded in death by his parents and his 3 brothers: Willard, Carroll, and Clifford. He is survived by his wife Vivian, his four children Robert, Tompson, Jr., Richard Tompson and his wife Terri, Karen Wolfe and her husband David, and Ronald Tompson and his wife Melody, 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family at a visitation to be held, Friday, May 17, 2024, 1-3 pm at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service honoring and celebrating Robert's life will be held at 3 pm. Committal prayer and burial will take place at Oakland Cemetery.
