Doris Louise Hill Gatlin

1928 - 2018

Doris Louise Hill Gatlin, born Sep 22, 1928, to Clarence Wesley Hill and Vertis Mattie Durden Hill, in Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away on Mar 31, 2018, under a beautiful blue moon in Foley, AL. She spent her childhood in Eagle Lake, FL with her large extended family. She reflected on the hardships, the good times and great fun of her youth. She was a giving person and helped all those she could. She and her late husband, Jim Gatlin, raised two sons in Savannah, GA, Gulfport, MS and Mobile, AL. For many years she enjoyed waitressing at Korbet's at the loop in Mobile. She retired from Olan Mills as a proof consultant. Family pictures were among her favorite things. She was so proud of all of her family. Doris was fun loving and independent. An Elvis fan, she lived like the song, "I Did It My Way". She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Margaret Gatlin and Steve and Patricia Gatlin, grandchildren, Erin Gatlin, Lindsay and Brad Robbins, Trenton and Crystal Gatlin, Miles and Elizabeth Gatlin and Haley and Greg Gillen, nine great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Interment will be at Serenity Funeral Home at 8691 Old Pascagoula Rd, Theodore, AL times TBA
