Larry "Keith" Gorum, age 59, passed away from complications from cancer on September 11, 2021 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born October 18, 1961, in Andalusia, AL to James Marvin Gorum and Lillie Marie (Knight) Gorum. He was a graduate of Shaw High School, class of 1980. He went on to graduate from the University of Mobile with a Bachelor's in Business Administration and Masters degrees in both Physical Education and Special Education. From then on, he dedicated his life to inspire and invest in the lives of students. He retired in 2019 from the Mobile County Public School System after a long and rewarding career. He was a passionate teacher and coach, loved music, football (Roll Tide), as well as arts and history. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Lillie Marie (Knight) Gorum, father-in-law Buford Gray, brother-in-law, Eric Gray and niece, Abby Wright. He is survived by his wife, Diane, his father, James Marvin Gorum, his children, Bradley and Brooke Gorum, his siblings, Randy Gorum (Glynnis), Kevin Gorum (Sherry), and Flora Glass (Chad), his grandchildren, Cohen Gorum, Christian Hinton, Blaise Allen, Paisley and Landon Bush and Bryce Burnett, his step-children, Faith Wyatt, Bekah Burnett (Timmy), Danielle Wyatt and Samantha Bush (Grant), as well as nieces and nephews, Dylan and Brittany Glass, Caleb and Noah Gorum, Jenny Thorske, Ashley Gorum, and Lance Bowden, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on October 16, 2021 at Orchard Baptist Church, located at 6960 Overlook Rd. Visitation will be in the fellowship hall at 1pm and the service will begin at 2pm in the sanctuary.
