Alan Stringer Obituary

Alan Louis Stringer
April 1, 1979 - November 3, 2019
Alan Stringer resident of Huntington Beach died Sunday November 3rd on Mount Darwin in Sequoia Kings National Park.
Alan was born and raised in Modesto. He completed schooling at Our Lady of Fatima, Beyer High, MJC and graduated from San Diego State University with an Accounting Degree. He was employed at The Phoenix Club in Anaheim as the Accounting and Human Resources Manager.
Alan had a profound love for life, always happy and upbeat. He would never be described as the "quiet type", he was always outgoing, friendly and the life of any party. He had a heart of gold. He conquered life and lived it to the fullest. He made the trail a lifestyle and went places only others could dream of. He has always loved the outdoors, hiking and traveling. He looked at the mountains and nature like no one else, and truly found his inner peace there.
He met the love of his life Gaby in February 2014 and was married in March 2018. Even when out on the trail for extended periods he would request Gaby to update him on the Oakland A's, his favorite team. Alan and Gaby had many wonderful travels together. Their first child is due in late November.
Alan is survived by his beloved wife Gabriela, his parents Lou and Nancy Stringer, his father-in-law Jose Romero, his sister Tracy Coleman (Nicholas), brother-in-laws Jeffery, Robert and David (Sasha) Taylor, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who all loved him dearly and have precious memories of time spent with him.
A celebration of life memorial service will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the GoFundMe account set up for his wife and unborn baby.

Big Al Dogg is the name he went by in our circle. I met B.A.D at work probably 10 years ago. He was a customer to our company and he and I hit it off right away, we became good friends from the gate. It is true that he is the funniest, free living person I have ever met. One party at my house he ends up staying the night, my 7 year old son comes out to tell me " there is a big huge person laying in his room" I said oh thats Big Al Dogg. After trying to wake him Unsuccessfully, my wife and i basically drag him to the living room couch. In the morning we wake up and Al and my son are sitting in the living room playing video games. Will never forget that. Alan will be missed. he has made everlasting memories with myself and my family. We love you Alan and I am sure your daughter will be filled with your same great spirit and loving kindness. Love you brother.

Gabby, we are so sorry for your great loss. I know that your little girl will grow up hearing amazing stories of her daddy. Her heart will always be full knowing what a wonderful man he was. Nancy and Lou, we met Alan only a few times. My daughter Crystal was good friends with Alan. He always made her laugh...he made everyone laugh. You did a fine job raising your son. He is well taken care of now. Our hearts go out to you and your family.

Alan and I hit it off right away. We both shared the same love of Classic Rock music and from then on we became best of friends. He will always be my juke box hero!
I have so many fond memories of him, it's hard to pick my favorite, but here are a few that come to mind.
One of my favorite memories is his and my bantering over the coffee. He had stayed with us for about a month and would start my coffee at 4am when I had preset it for 6:30 am. Most mornings I woke up to burnt coffee and other mornings I'd wake up to not even a full cup of coffee. He and I would battle back and forth on whose fault it was but I could only laugh because it was so hard to be mad at him. We both knew how to make each other laugh, even with our coffee crisis.
Another found memory was our trip to Big Bear (this was when Alan was a bit heavier). We had rented a pontoon boat and went out for the day. He kept jumping into the water and we (about 5 of us) would have to pull him up each time. It was a struggle getting him back into the boat but he didn't care. We all starting to tell him to stop jumping in, but that didn't stop him. Later we found out we weren't supposed to be jumping in. We all laughed about it since there was a lot of jumping in that day!
One year we had wet up to Lake Tahoe at the same time he and his family had gone up. We met him at the lake and enjoyed the day together. I decided to get into the water but the wind had picked up somehow I drifted off towards the rocks (I seriously thought I was going to die). My husband scolded me because I had my youngest daughter with me but Alan just laughed. It was either he or myself getting in trouble by Derek. We were like little kids always laughing at the other one when getting scolded by Papa Bear. Alan would always say that Papa Bear is babysitting the cubs. We both knew what that meant.

Alan, I will miss you more than you'll ever know! I will also miss our galling! (Inside joke with us).
Until we meet again my friend! ❤

Alan was my precious nephew, my oldest sister, Nancy's son and her husband Lou. He was literally the funniest person you can imagine. He loved his Oakland A's so much and would often visit Dallas to see me and my family and we would go to a game when they played the Texas Rangers. Following that we HAD to get some Texas bbq which he happily devoured!! I have so many wonderful memories and will miss him more than words can ever describe. He loved hiking and I'm at peace knowing he died doing what he loved. God bless you Alan, and your Aunt Kathy loves you so much!! I can't wait to see your baby girl and I thank God that we will have a piece of you with her here on earth, and I know you will be watching out for us from Heaven.
