Aldo Albertoni Obituary

Aldo Albertoni
March 1, 1928 - January 10, 2022
Oakdale, California - With heavy heart and sadness, we announce that on January 10, 2022, Aldo Albertoni passed away of acute congestive heart failure, surrounded by his family at his home. He was 93 years old. He was born on March 1, 1928 to Aurelio and Florinda Albertoni (Soldavini). He had always said that he was born in this house on the family ranch, and he was going to die in this house, and that is exactly what he did. Aldo attended local Oakdale schools, including being a sixth grade student during the first year Magnolia School opened. Each morning before school, Aldo would not only milk his family's cows by hand, but he would milk the neighbor lady's cows. In 1950–51, he proudly served his country in the Korean War. His service to his country was interrupted when he had to return to Oakdale to take over the family dairy after the untimely death of his father. In 1953, Aldo met and married the girl next door, Claudia Robbins. Together they raised their family of four boys and one girl. They were married for 68 years and lived in the same house on the ranch their entire married lives
In the early 60's, Aldo sold his dairy cows and converted the land into a peach ranch. In the 70's, he replanted with almond trees, which continue to grow on the ranch today.
Aldo was a man with a very strong work ethic. He instilled that trait into his children, who grew up helping with the farm chores. During Aldo's "off season", he enjoyed stream fishing and deer hunting in Colorado. Some of his trophies are still displayed in his living room. Aldo enjoyed his involvement in the Stanislaus County Swiss Club and the former Dante Club spending time talking and sharing stories with his friends and family. What he enjoyed the most was having his grandchildren and great grandchildren over to visit for "free" ice cream.
His family will always remember how caring and supportive Aldo was in encouraging his children to pursue their dreams. He encouraged his children to achieve their best, whether it was advanced education or a vocational career, and he was proud of each and every one of them.
Aldo is survived by his wife of 68 years, Claudia, their three sons, Larry (Teresa), Tony (Lisa) and Bob (Lori), and one daughter, Susan (John). He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Jeane, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents Aurelio and Florinda, his oldest son Fred, grandson Robbie, great granddaughters Hudson and Blake, his sister Eleanor, and his brother Bruno.
Aldo will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends. It is very hard to have to see him go.
A memorial service will be held at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 West F Street, Oakdale, on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 10:00 am, followed by lunch at the Oakdale Sportsmen's Club, 840 N. Stearns Road in Oakdale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Aldo's name may be made to the Stanislaus County Swiss Club, P.O. Box 1522, Modesto, CA 95353 or to the Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95350.
