Born March 29, 1925 in Mt. Ayr, Iowa, Barbara Jean Yaeger (nee Webb) died December 23 at her home in Oakdale, California with her family by her side. She was the wife of Pastor William E. Yaeger who preceded her in death. Also going before her were her son, Timothy Yaeger, daughter Robin Yaeger, grandchild Sarah Sexton, and great-grandchildren Helen Sexton and Oscar Sexton. She is survived by her daughter Linda Sexton (Clifford), son Mark Yaeger, (Jan), grandsons Joshua Sexton (Veronica) Caleb Sexton (Evelyn) and Jon Yaeger (Lynnessa) and great-grandsons Oliver Sexton and Everett Hanely.
Barbara was a gracious, humble, generous and wise Christian woman whose faith in Christ has now become sight. She wanted others to grasp the truth of the Gospel and welcome Christ into their lives. She knew from experience that walking daily with Jesus brings the peace and joy only God can give, and she wanted that for everyone.
A memorial service will be held at CrossPoint Community Church's Chapel, 12th and M Streets in Modesto Friday, January 12 at noon.

Just found out about this today. Having lost my mom in November, I know the hole that is left. Bill and Barbara were a constant presence in my life from my toddlerhood into adulthood. Like my own parents, they were a great example of strong Christian faith and love of family. I am thankful for the years I had growing up at First Baptist, becoming grounded in my faith. Lin and Mark, prayers and thoughts are with you and your families.

A lot of what happened during those wonderful glory years of First Baptist Modesto were a direct result of Barbara's faithfulness. She took no credit. Bill always said he wouldn't be the man he was without this great woman beside him. So many of us looked to Barbara and observed a fabulous model of what a humble gracious godly woman/pastor's wife/servant could look like.
