Modesto, California - Beverly passed away in Modesto, CA, on Thursday, October 14th, 2021, she was 88. She was born in Modesto, CA, on December 3, 1932, to Frank and Ada Ramsey.
Bev is survived by her sons, Dennis Van Lier (Pat) and Robert Van Lier (step-son); her daughters, Patty Godfrey (Jeff) and Lily Baker (Rob); 13 Grandchildren; and 10 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Bob (Robert) Van Lier, her father Frank Ramsey, her mother Ada Reese, her step-father Francis Reese, her sister Jeanne Trahan, and her sons Eric Van Lier and Ronald Van Lier (step-son).
Beverly worked several jobs throughout the years. She was a bookkeeper for Horn Construction, a church secretary and accountant at Bethel Church in Oakdale, a substitute teacher and classroom aid at Alpha Omega Christian School, all the while raising beef cattle alongside her husband, Bob, and being a homemaker. She worked countless elections at different voting locations throughout Stanislaus County. She was a devoted mother and grandmother as well as an extremely talented seamstress. She loved to sew, knit, and crochet, working in her garden and tending to her yard. She loved hosting family holiday celebrations and decorating her home for the occasions. She regularly attended Life Community Church in Oakdale and most recently Shelter Cove Community Church in Modesto as well. Beverly traveled to Rwanda on a mission trip. Here she taught sewing classes (life-skill) to girls who would soon be aging out of an orphanage. She was a prayer warrior and involved in many prayer groups over the years. She loved singing in the choir at church and in everyday life as she listened to Christian Radio. She will be missed deeply by her family, friends, and church members.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in her honor at 11:00 am, Friday, November 5th, 2021, at Shelter Cove Church located at 4242 Coffee Rd, Modesto, CA.
