Bill Gomes Obituary
SEPT 14, 1946 - OCT 10, 2011
Our beloved father, brother, "VoVo" & "Uncle Bill" went to heaven on Oct. 10th in Roseburg, OR.
He was born on Sept. 14, 1946 to Pete & Mary Gomes in Stockton, Ca. Bill grew up on the family ranch/dairy in Modesto. He attended Westport School and Ceres High School graduating class of "1964." Bill was employed by Gomes Bros. Dairy and James Wing Silage Harvesting Co. for many years.
He loved farming, gardening, mechanics and being able to fix anything. He was the go to guy you would call when anything needed to be repaired. Following his retirement he spent his time updating his beautiful riverfront home in Glide, OR and finally completing his train set a huge accomplishment that he worked on for many years.
He is survived by daughters, Jennifer (Ken) Cardoza of Modesto, Suzanne Gomes of Modesto & son Greg Gomes of Modesto. Sisters Gloria (Alvin) Deal of White City, OR & Kerri (Clyde) Rodrigues of Turlock, CA. Grandson Garrett Parker & granddaughter Meghan Parker several nieces, nephews and friends.
Arrangements are entrusted to Neptune Society Cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.

Gloria and Keri Ann....I'm so sorry hear of the loss of your brother. I feel lucky to have seen him at my brother Ed's class reunion last summer and catch up on old times. I true the saying is to live each day to the fullest with no regrets. May the Lord be with you and give you peac at this sorrowful time.....JoAnne Brush Conley

Bill was a great guy. Most of my memories come from childhood, when he and my dad spent alot of time building what became the Briesch Cabin. Dad built bridges and overpasses, but not cabins. I've heard him talk about how surprised he was to "pull it off" and the person who did it with him, over many weekends, was Bill. There was no other relative or friend as qualified, and likely nobody as good-natured and willing to help. I also recall that the two and the two families shared alot of good-times fishing, bbq'ing, joking. I guess it's been over 20 years since I've seen Bill, but I remember him like it was yesterday, and all the memories are good.
