I must have been a fourth grader at John Muir Elementary School when I met him. This 5th grader came to John Muir named Brian. He got noticed quickly during recess because he was the fastest, strongest kid in the school. We became fast friends and we competed in red light, green light, red rover, dodge ball and all the classic games. Brian and I were always the last ones left standing.
Brian was likable and quick witted. He was kind and caring. After elementary school I lost track of him ...only to read his obituary this morning. It didn't surprise me that he had a good relationship with his boys. He had great people skills back then. I wish I'd kept in touch. Blessings to Brian's family and friends.
