Cecil Wright Obituary

Cecil L. Wright
July 15, 1914 - February 21, 2016
Cecil Wright entered into rest on Feb. 21st 2016 in Turlock, CA at the age of 101. She was born on July 15, 1914 in Lequire, Ok. Cecil is preceded in death by her parents, James and Dora Powell; brothers and sisters, Willie, Lonnie, Hanford, Edna, Jessie, Elzie, Aldavia and 2 infant brothers; her husband, George S. Wright; her children, Nina June, Carmen Jean, George R., and grandchild Denise. Cecil is survived by her daughters Betty Kaufmann and Georgeanna Wright, both of Modesto, CA. Cecil also leaves behind her grandchildren Dennis, Napa, CA., Donna, Santa Rosa, CA., Katrina, Modesto CA., Nina, Pixley, CA.,  and Joe, Hanford, CA; also,  Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cecil has fallen asleep in the Lord. She was a tiny bundle of energy and laughter. Her extended family was large and we often joked over how the never ending stream of letters was keeping the postal service afloat. Some of the most joyful times of her life were while her children and grandchildren were young. We have many indelible memories of singing and dancing together. Mom was widowed too early, but then worked at Tri Valley 7 cannery for many years. Later she joined her daughters on many wonderful vacation trips. The tragedy of dementia affected her later life, but her sense of humor and wonder in life were maintained until almost the end. We are inexpressibly grateful for her life and that she was able to verbalize her love until almost her last breath. Love never dies.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Franklin & Downs Funeral Home.  A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, March 4, 2016, at 11am at Acacia Memorial Park in Modesto, CA.  If you would like to send condolences to the family, please visit franklindownsfuneralhome.com.

I am truly sorry for the loss of your mother, she lived a long joyous life. We can look forward to time when sickness, death will be no more. It was God's purpose for humans to live forever and he has made it possible by giving his son to us.-John 3:16. Know that Prayers are being said in your behalf.
