June 15, 1933 - December 3, 2020
Turlock, California - Tom Spaid left this world on December 3 after a valiant battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was fun and charming and always had time to stop and talk to every single person he met. He will be forever missed by his wife of 30 years Rhonda Spaid, his 3 daughters, Vicki Vanderpool (Mike), Cindy Wolfe (Jeff Clark) and Jennifer Foppiano (Rob). He was a cherished stepfather to Darrell Hendricks (Leah) and Jessica DeSousa (Roger). Tom was Pop/Grandpa to 8 grandkids; Scott Wolfe, Nichole and Rachel Foppiano, Ashtin Dalby, Mia Hendricks and Roger, Ryder and Royce DeSousa. Due to COVID there will be a graveside service for immediate family only. Once restrictions are lifted we will have the celebration of life that Tom deserves and everyone with a Tom Spaid story will be invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Covenant Care Hospice or The Alzheimer's Foundation.

The best teacher in the world! Mr. Spaid was a hilarious ball of energy and pushed us to reach our max potential. Thank you for the encouragement, the stern reprimand when I got lazy, and for making us laugh and learn, Mr. Spaid. I think of you often and smile.

Best remembered as "Sam Spade", perhaps, during the '40's and '50's - it fit him well. Always active and well liked by all his mates. He will be missed.
