Sad to read of Darrell's passing. He was my next door neighbor on Alwood St back in the 50's.

I was sorry to just read of Darrell's passing. I had my lawnmower fixed a couple of times at Darrell's shop and found him to be one heck of a nice man. I had just remarried when I went into the shop and asked if he ever hired summer help, because my stepson, at the time, Adam Clinton, took mechanics at Hughson High and he was a good kid. I didn't really give Darrell time to answer. So, I brought Adam in the next day and Darrell immediately liked him. It worked out well. Adam played varsity basketball and Darrell's business slowed down in the winter and it worked out well. Darrell gave Adam a going away party in 2002 when he joined the Army right after high school graduation. I will always appreciate Darrell hiring Adam. He was a good man.
