Modesto, California - Deborah was born to Thomas J. and Barbara J. Keyes in Modesto, CA. A lifelong resident, she graduated from Davis High in 1971.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 24 years, Charles Austin Jr., their children Robert Gomez and wife Erin, Rushell Shilts and husband Robert, her sisters Cynthia Lawler and Andrea Teixeira, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and grandnieces.
Deborah was preceded in death by her brother Jens C. Keyes, and her parents, Tom and Barbara.
A forward thinker, Deborah worked in the medical industry as a computer technician, at the beginning of the computer revolution. From there she worked to keep organized several front offices over the years. But her most important work was as Mamie, the nickname used by her nieces and nephews, and eventually everyone else; Someone who would understand and love you without judgment. (Except on Sunday. She was watching football. So don't bother her!)
Deborah's viewing will be held Friday, February 17th, 2023 at Lakewood Memorial, Hughson, CA at 10am, to be followed by a graveside service at 11am. There will be no after service gathering.
