Grandpa Don, not a day goes by that I don´t think of you. Even all these years later. You gave me your name (Donald Ray Wyatt III), but so much more than that. You taught me all the things that you felt a man ought to know. Including, but not limited to how to build and fix just about anything around a household, under a hood, and even your unique way of communicating with the fairer sex. I know I´ve made mistakes, but I hope that you look down upon me and are proud to point me out to your friends and say "that´s my grandson". I wear your dog tag everyday in remembrance of you. I love you grandpa!

Don was my friend. I met him in the late 80's at the Modesto Ski Club. He was the funniest guy around.

Death is that state in which one exists only in the memory of others, which is why there is not an end, and no goodbys just good memories.

Sergeant First Class Donald Wyatt was a member of the First Battalion 184th Infantry (Mechanized) and was a dedicated soldier and an outstanding Infantryman. He was respected by his peers and will be missed. I am honored to represent the battalion in sending our sincere, heartfelt sympathy from the Officers, Noncommissioned Officers and Enlisted Personnel in the loss of Sergeant First Class Wyatt. So many of our comrades-in-arms are gone already, but we know they are together holding reveille every morning as dawn breaks and the sun shines over the clouds and the sound of the bugle wafts through the dewdrops. Second California salutes you, Sergeant First Class Wyatt.
Sincerely,
Chief Warrant Officer Five Arleen L. Wattel, Retired

Don was my Platoon Sergeant in the National Guard. Great guy and easy going. Lots of Camp Rorberts and Fort Irwin memories. The stories that could be told of Don, Wally and Delbert. Don, I wish I knew you were in Hughson. Terrible how we lose touch when we retire. Sure miss those younger days and the fun times we had then.
