ELIAS CORDOVA JULY 5, 1943 - AUG. 21, 2007 CELEBRATION OF LIFE Senior Pastor Elias Cordova was the Founder & Bishop of Community Praise Tabernacle - An Independent Congregation of Born Again New Testament Christians'' a continuation of the church founded in the Book of Acts on the Day of Pentecost, also RCA-Riverbank Christian Academy.
Our Bishop & Senior Pastor was a well respected, compassionate Man of God who served the Riverbank & surrounding communities for over 30 years. Many members of Community Praise Tabernacle, A Bi-lingual Congregation travel from Turlock, Ceres, Modesto, Escalon, Oakdale & surrounding areas just to sit under the Senior Pastors Ministry.
The entire congregation is deeply saddened, but we know that GOD IS FAITHFUL,'' We will carry on his visionary work in Jesus' Name!
Elias Cordova's powerful voice of influence has been heard and honored in many hundreds of places at home and abroad as he shared the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Christ's plan of Salvation'' to all who would listen. Although our Bishop & Senior Pastor's voice, his sphere of influence & vision has been stilled in death, his sense of purpose & vision in this life will be honored and carried on by the Ministerial Staff and the faithful Apostolic Christians who attend Community Praise Tabernacle in Riverbank.
Pastor Elias Cordova was a man of principle, purpose & vision to the very end! His sole purpose was to inspire others and by God's Grace add souls to the Body of Christ. Our Pastor successfully believed and practiced the Biblical principle of Restoration'' which is evidenced by many in our congregation today.
Elias Cordova is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maria Amparo Cordova, one daughter, Martha Saldana, husband Jerry of Watsonville, 4 sons, Pastor Elias Cordova, Jr. (& Karen), Samuel Cordova (& JoAnn), Daniel Cordova (& Roxie) and his youngest son, Benjamin, all of Riverbank. The Bishop is also survived by twelve grandchildren who were the light of his life!
Service will be held, today, Tuesday, Aug 28th at l0am at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson.

Dear Sister Cordova, our Senior Pastor's wife and family,
What a joy to have known your husband, our Bishop and Sr. Pastor.
I too shall miss him because he was easy to speak with, knew what he believed, stood his ground and in my opinion was a man of great character and faith!
Most of the Christians I know would have immediately said, Doc, do whatever it is you have to do, hook me up, open me up, but your husband passed away as he lived trusting the "Mighty God in Christ."
It is escpecially joyful to know his life will live on through the many lives he touched and the church he established with the help of the Lord of Glory!!!
Now that the hustle and bustle of trying to accept the fact Brother Cordova is gone from you and your family, the planning and preparation for services that were beautiful in every way, there will assuredly be times when you think no one is thinking about you and your loss!
When those times come and they will, because I have lived those times myself. Sister McAbee and I will not only be thinking of you, we will be praying in JESUS' Wonderful Name!
Our Lord & Savior will in many ways by someone's simple act of FAITH always let you know, "GOD is FAITHFUL."
When Jesus comes again and time shall be no more & in the Power of His Resurrection we all shall live again! Gospel of John 5:28-29,I Thessalonians 4:18 and I Corinthians 15:51-58!!!
I remember when your husband and the children's Dad told the church, you had told him you would be with him until the very end and you were!
Please take comfort in the fact that you obeyed the wedding vows you took over forty-two years ago and the Bishop knew you would be with him 'til the end!
In order for us to follow your husband's example, we too can only be faithful to the love of our life, Jesus the Christ and our companion in this life!
Watch as God moves and the church begins to grow Spiritually and numerically! "Stand by and see the Salvation of the Lord." You will be seeing the fruits of your husband's labor!!
In Christian Love,
Brother McAbee

Sis Cordova, Bro Elias Jr,Sis Karen and children.Bro Elias Sr has completed his race and there is a crown of life waiting for him.I know that there will be a void in your lifes, but it is only for a little while.Until then you must continue on this path of faith and it will not seem long before you see him again, for life is but a vapor. Be strong and stay encouraged in the Lord, run the race that is before and do what is right.

Elias
I was deeply saddened when I heard of the passing of Pastor Cordova, He made an impression on my life one day when I walked into the chapel and heard him crying out to God for each one his members by name. I will always remember that and his compassion for the saints of God. May God bless and comfort you and your family; our hope is we will see him soon on the other side.
God Bless you
