Frances Ann McDaniel

FRANCES ANN MCDANIEL DEC 28, 1943 - JAN 12, 2011 Fran McDaniel, 67, of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, January 12th, 2011. Fran was born in Napa, California, to parents Lucille & Theron McDaniel. Fran passed away following a sudden illness while visiting family and friends in Modesto and Sacramento. At the time of her death, Fran was the Director of the Office of LGBT Awareness at Bucknell University. Fran's long and dedicated career in social work included service with YWCA, Boystown, E. Ross Clark Foster Care in Modesto, and Hospice of Contra Costa County. Fran loved to travel and she also enjoyed moonlighting'' as a travel agent with Tempo Travel in Modesto. Fran was a board member and volunteer in the early days of the Stanislaus Community Aids Project. Fran is survived by her life partner Therese Miller, her nephew and great nephews Eric, Josh and Zach Smith, her foster son Joe Pepe'' Rodriguez, stepdaughter Erin Henson, and granddaughter Tenaja Henson. Fran was preceded in death by her father Theron McDaniel and her sister Kay Smith, both of Eureka, CA. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 1:00 pm at College Avenue Congregational Church, 1341 College Avenue, Modesto, CA.
