Frances Tashima (née Tsuchiya)
March 14, 1921 - December 8, 2015
Born Livingston, CA, March 14, 1921. Died Sacramento, December 8, 2105, from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Preceded in death by her husband, Takayuki Tashima, daughter, Frances Jean and sister, Martha Tsuchiya. Graduated from Colorado State College, Greeley, after wartime evacuation to Amache Japanese Internment Camp. Long-time teacher for Livingston Union School District and member of Livingston United Methodist Church. Sadly missed by her children, Jim Tashima (Mary Purvis) and Susan Toppenberg (Val), grandchildren Robert Tashima (Amanda Pearson), Jean Tashima (Geoff Price), Alec Toppenberg and Kelly Toppenberg, and great-grandaughter, Lyra Price. Frances also leaves behind her devoted sister, Janet Tashima, nephews Niel and Eugene, in-laws, nephews, nieces and many friends. Thank you to the staff at Waterleaf at Land Park for taking care of Frances. In lieu of koden or flowers, donations to your local animal shelter or SPCA would be appreciated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

So sorry for your loss. She was a very sweet lady and I was so fortunate to know her and appreciated the time she took to come to my class and do a presentation on Japan. I also remember her on Grandparents Day. XOXOX to all the family.
