Gary Gajewski

Gary Gajewski, 64, Pulaski, died peacefully Friday morning, June 13, 2014, at his home with his family at his side. The son of Eugene and Martha (Homel) Gajewski was born March 17, 1950, and was a 1968 graduate of Pulaski High School and a 1972 graduate of UW-Stevens Point. He was a veteran of the US Army Reserves, 432nd Civil Affairs Unit. On June 1, 1974, he married Rosemary Holl at Assumption B.V.M. Parish in Pulaski.

After working alongside his parents at Gambles Store (Gajewski Hardware Hank) in Pulaski, Gary owned and operated Gajewski Appliance and Repair until 2013. He also worked 10 years for the Pulaski Community School District. He was a member and past Commander of the American Legion, Post #337, Pulaski. Gary took pride in serving the Pulaski community. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Polka Days was like four days of Christmas for Gary. He was an avid Packers fan and loved to cook great meals to be enjoyed at game-time.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; three sons: Jake (Sarah Schneider) Gajewski, Pulaski, Nick Gajewski, Pulaski, and Tyler (Kim Fischer) Ashwaubenon; one brother: Ron (Phyllis) Gajewski, Pulaski; two sisters: Janet (Rudy) Alvarado, Moore, OK, Maria (Den) Haughton, Stillman Valley, IL; his cousin "like a brother" Bob (Elaine) Gajewski, Pulaski; his feline companions, Felix and Buddy; Rosemary's siblings: Robert E. Holl, Green Bay, and Rochell (Lou) Cheplak, Janesville; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Friends may call at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 124 W. Pulaski St, Pulaski, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, with a Veterans Service at 7:00 p.m., and a Closing Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. The visitation continues after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, at the church, Fr. Bob Konkol, OFM presiding, with burial in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Dhimant Patel, Dr. Mark Riedy, and the entire staff at Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, and Unity Hospice for their compassionate care and concern.

Dear Rosemary, sons & family: you have our sincere sympathy & prayers for Gary's passing. He was such a great guy & my "Go To" person for any questions about my stove & refrigerator! Yes, still have the ones bought from his store in 1983 & they still work thanks to Gary! He will truly be missed by many, we used to compare fishing stories when we saw each other. May all of your precious memories of him help you thru this time of grief. Prayers be with you all~
