My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to his family. I had the privilege of working at Macerich and only met Gene once, but his leadership example is know throughout the company. He was a wonderful example, he will be missed. (Fresno, CA)

I was honored to have shared college, two jobs and untold adventures with Gene and always considered him a talented associate and dear frend. I am shocked to hear he is gone so soon as we might have had yet more to do together if he not worked so darn hard so long. I will miss Gene (I thought he was a Eugene) greatly and offer my deepest condolences to all the family.

Gene was a polished and poised individual who had natural charm and charisma. I was fortunate to work with Gene in the New York Field Office, Vice Presidential Detail and the San Francisco Field Office. Gene was the ultimate professional who always availed himself to his co-workers. I am a better person both professionally and personally because of my relationship with both Gene and Sue! Gene will be missed but never forgotten! May God Bless the Thompson family!!

To Gene's family,
I am deeply saddened to hear that Gene passed away. He was a good, kind man. You have my deepest sympathy.

I enjoyed working for Gene in the San Francisco Secret Service Office. He was a wonderful mentor and roll model. One of the many memories I have of Gene is how he liked driving the green corvette.

Please know that he will be missed and remembered.
