George Amador-Lewis Obituary

San Jose, California - George "Geo" Edward Amador-Lewis, a veteran of the US Army, passed in his sleep, on September 16, 2023, in Auckland, New Zealand. He was born on November 23, 1969, to his parents Gary George Lewis and Candice Guerin in Winchester, CT, and attended Canton High School.
After high school, Geo enlisted in the US Army and attained the rank of SPC as a Finance Specialist. Geo served in Operation Desert Storm and received the National Defense Service Medal. Geo was honorably discharged in 1992 after sustaining injuries. He moved to the Central Valley, attended Modesto City College, and then CSUS as a Finance Major. He left the Banking industry after 15 years of service to pursue a career in Logistics Services.
In 2006, Geo and his son Mason started training in Taekwondo which turned into a passion for teaching others Taekwondo. Geo opened Lewis' ATA Black Belt Academy in Turlock. In 2009, he met his wife Rapunzel, and her daughters, Kaila and Khiara who became Geo's first and longest-trained black belt students. Through years of "blood, sweat, and tears," Geo and Rapunzel became the best of friends. In March 2016, the Amador-Lewis clan became a blended family of five.
Geo and Rapunzel created their "memories of a lifetime" through traveling the world. They moved to Oklahoma City in 2021. They sold their home after two years and decided to go on a 107-day journey to renew their vows and find their next home in one of the 44 destinations of the cruise. They disembarked from Brisbane, Australia and renewed their vows on June 30, while cruising along the Red Sea.
Geo is survived by his wife Rapunzel, and their children Kaila, Mason, and Khiara. A celebration of life will be held on October 2, at 10 am at Allen Mortuary in Turlock followed by a Military Funeral at 1:30 pm at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA. It was Geo's wish that memorial tributes be made to theheadstrongproject.org. Condolences can be left at www.allenmortuary.com.
