SEPT. 9, 1936 - MAY 26, 2012
GEORGE WAID, 75, passed away in Modesto, California, after an illness.
He was formerly of Santa Clara County. He considered himself fortunate in that he loved truck driving. The past 23 years he had been a line-driver for Smart Transportation (Save Mart). His other loves were spending time with family, "tinkering" and riding his motorcycle.
He was born in Chickalah, Arkansas, to Earnest "Slim" Waid, deceased, and Allie Mae Sunseri, now of Modesto. George is survived by the love of his life Karen, his wife of 42 years; his daughter Shelly (Ed) Hernandez; three sons Greg (Kim), Daniel (Stephanie) and Kevin (Alli); four brothers Calvin (Jeanette), Bob (Ruby), David (Lonna) and Roy (Cheryl); three brothers-in-law Steven (Alicia) Lowery, Tony (Carol) Lowery and David (Carla) Lowery.
George's pride and joy were his grandkids Victoria (Travis) Sinclaire, Ed (Tamara) Hernandez, Greg Waid, Kayla & Ashlyn Waid, Jasper McGinn and Carson & Audrey Waid; and great granddaughter Emily Sinclaire. He also had numerous nieces and nephews.
George never met a stranger. He was always highly regarded by family, friends and coworkers most of whom became like family. In lieu of flowers please make remembrances in his name to Alexander Cohen Hospice House, 2201 Euclid Ave., Hughson, CA 95326.
A celebration of his life will be held on July 29.

Ali, Kevin & Karen...I had no idea until today that you have suffered such an immense loss...please accept our sincerest condolences during this time. Karen and family,
George was an inspiration to all of us. He would light a room as he walked in and I have never heard anyone say a bad thing about him. He was liked by all and it seemed as though everyone knew him. George, you will be missed.

Our hearts have broken along with yours. Bubba George was a wonderful friend and coworker. It hasn't been the same out there on the road with out him. We are going to miss his wit and humor.
